That Afternoon in a Decaying Park
Words by Jaqueline Sampaio | Photography by Carmen Vidal
What is life?
Roller coaster that creaks when the car passes in some parts
Beyond the thrill and danger
Nails falling from the frame
You surrounded by familiar and strange faces
Sharing the same experience
Sharing the ups and downs
disposable memories
Saved in photos or videos
An afternoon adorned with cheap and colorful souvenirs
You, dizzy, trying to get something to eat in a mile-long line
Absorbing, weakly, the smells, colors, and sensations
All so intense and costly
And then, you are lost
Where are the familiar faces?
Where are the strangers?
And go home by yourself
